Rockford Road/I-494 Bridge Project Phase 1 Detour Map -- Primary detour route is I-494 and Highway 55. Local traffic detour routes include Highway 55, Northwest Boulevard (County Road 61) and Rockford Road (County Road 9).Phase 1 Begins May 28
Phase 1: North Ramps Closed 
Both north ramps are closed, as of Tuesday, May 28.
Phase 1, which is expected to be complete by early July, involves widening and improving the north ramps.
The north ramps include:
  • The ramp from Rockford Road (County Road 9) to northbound I-494
  • The ramp from southbound I-494 to Rockford Road
The roadway bridge will continue to be open to traffic during Phase 1.
Phase 1: Detour
Motorists should follow the posted detour route. The primary detour for this phase is I-494 and Highway 55.
Local traffic detour routes include Highway 55, Northwest Boulevard (County Road 61) and Rockford Road (County Road 9). Download the Phase 1 Detour Map (PDF).
Pedestrian Bridge Closed
The pedestrian bridge is closed to traffic, as of May 30. It will be closed for the remainder of the project. Pedestrians and bicyclists should follow the posted detour route. Download the Pedestrian/Bicycle Detour Map (PDF).
